The View from a House in Kansas, Acts 1 to 5 tells the story of a young woman coming of age in a small Midwestern town in the middle of the 20th century. Each Act consists of a multi-fold, 16-inch tall toy-theater-like panel and an accompanying paper-doll-shaped book. Act by act, room by room, dream and recollection reveal the small epiphanies that catapult the character, Marissa Vorobia, from child to adolescent to young adult.
